The Bingham Miner girls basketball team opened the 2023-24 season with a 69-51 victory over the Thimpview Thunderbirds on Thursday night.
The Miners dominated the game from start to finish, leading by as many as 20 points at one point in the fourth quarter. They led the way with a balanced scoring attack that saw four players score in double figures.
"We focus on not being the best player on the team, but the player who contributes the most to the team in whatever role we ask them to play," said Bingham head coach Skyler Beard." That's what we saw tonight; fantastic.
The Miners were especially impressive from the three-point line, hitting 10 three-pointers on the night. They also outscored the Thunderbirds 42-27.
Templeview got a great performance from guard Jenna Johnson, who scored 22 points. However, the Thunderbirds could not keep up with the Miners' hot shooting and strong rebounding.
This win starts the season off right for the Miners as they look to make even more strides in the state playoffs.
